Stand up for who?………for 2face

Nigeria is one of the few countries where we only celebrate corrupt rich men, bloated politicians and to put a balance to the equation; we promote all our negativities to the outside world. Watching CNN and listening to BBC news attests the fact that the western world delights in spreading bad news from Africa. Hence, bad news (which sells!) comes mainly from Africa and we do not find profiles of our heroes on international websites and other media. I am still to find BBC and CNN castigating the British Government appropriately on their perceived abetting in the Alami saga.
Today, I rise up boldly to celebrate a young man who has achieved amazing feats in his field. A man who is rising by the day. We know him to fear the slang – “nothing dey happen” after he was almost killed by miscreants. My friends are priviledged to some plans I have for my wedding day – one of which is to play some very powerful love songs and Tuface’s African Queen easily made the list.
Tuface won almost all the top music awards in Nigeria this year. In November, Tuface made history by becoming the first African to win the MTV Europe Music Award and we thought the accolade has ended for the year; we were completely wrong. Tuface Idibia bagged the award for Revelation of the Year at the Kora Awards in South Africa over the weekend.
I say to the man who is fond of saying “Nfana Mbagha” which means no problem that we are proud of him and he should keep the flag fying.
And I want to entreat him to please give some of those Guiness money to me o, fans are entitled to some of the dough. Ride on man and do not compromise your effizees!
